Meet Alexandra Dickinson, LMSW

Alex is a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with high school and college students, new moms and dads, and professionals who are struggling with depression and anxiety. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, Alex was a communications professional and negotiation coach. She has a particular interest in supporting women who are struggling with changes in mood and anxiety as related to new motherhood and/or the onset of menopause.

Alex approaches sensitive topics with warmth and support. She is particularly attuned to the mental health challenges that come with major life transitions. Alex is also a trained yoga teacher, and brings her background in mindfulness and meditation to each session.

Experience and Qualifications

 

Alex is a licensed psychodynamic psychotherapist practicing in New York City. She is currently part of the team at Rose Hill Psychological Services.

She is a past contributing writer at ForbesWomen and has spoken at organizations like UN Women, Columbia Business School, SXSW, Facebook, and more. Her past work has been featured in:
Harvard Business Review, CNBC, Insider, New York Magazine,

 

and many other publications. As a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, she brings her background in mindfulness and meditation to each session.

She earned her LMSW from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, and she has also previously obtained a BS and an MA in Media, Culture and Communication from NYU. She is also a member of Postpartum Support International.
